Hi, I’m Emily! And I’m not a writer 🤷‍♀️ but God lead me to write this for you.
It all started on “no electronics day”… Every Saturday my family and I would do something we called “no electronics day”, where we wouldn’t play any video games, go on social media, make phone calls or text, or watch any T.V. (hence the name). The only thing we allowed ourselves to do was listen to worship music.
On this particular Saturday, I had a strong urge to write this book… actually, I have been feeling this way for quite some time, but never acted on it and always let the feeling pass by saying “I’ll do it tomorrow”. I almost did the same thing this day because I didn’t want to turn on my iPad to type it out and was going to leave it for “tomorrow” (but we all know tomorrow never comes). Realizing this and being so compelled to write, I didn’t allow that to happen this time. So I turned on my iPad, sat on the couch next to Lilly and said “Wanna write a book?” And the rest is history!
The next struggle was putting it out there… I kept on telling myself “This is just for fun… I’m not going to ever actually put it on the market or anything.” But just like getting the book written, God had other plans! No matter how much I lied to myself that I would never put it out there, or could never do this because I’m not a writer, God made sure to put it so heavy on my spirit, that I couldn’t refuse! So here we are!
No matter what we think our own agenda is, or how much we feel out of our comfort zone, God ensures that His will be done! And thank God for that!!!
This is a true story about how Lilly and her family worked together by coming up with solutions on how to help Lilly sleep by herself, by building up her faith and bravery, using God’s word as her weapon, and some extra night lights and stuffed animals. 🙂
